Who can make a referral?

Children’s Bureau of New Orleans accepts referrals from many different sources who are invested in the life of the child, including parents or other relatives, teachers, Child Advocacy Centers, juvenile court officials, and DCFS to name a few. Individuals between the ages of 18 and 24 years old may request an appointment for themselves. While any concerned adult may refer a child for counseling, only legal guardians may complete an intake and consent for treatment.

What services do we offer?

  • A phone intake to determine appropriate services and clinician assignment.
  • An initial screening/assessment to determine each family’s strengths and challenges.
  • Weekly evidence-based, trauma-informed counseling sessions with a masters-level clinician or trainee; we serve youth ages 4 years to 24 years old.
  • Crisis intervention for a youth or family in the immediate aftermath of a loss or other traumatic event.
To receive a call about services, simply fill out the referral form below. Once submitted, you will be contacted by someone on our team within two (2) business days. Once you complete the online form, a copy of the completed form will be emailed to you for your records.
